Surfing in Dunfanaghy

The Dunfanaghy area provides superb opportunities for surfers of all levels. There are numerous Blue Flag beaches, all within 10 minutes drive of Anseo, which offer safe surfing for beginners, while the area also has numerous reef and sandbar breaks for the more experienced.

There are two superb surf shops in Dunfanaghy, which both run ISA approved surf schools.

Donald Craig, who was the instigator of the hugely successful Dunfanaghy Jazz and Blues Festival, runs the long-established Jaws Surf School in the village square, while a collection of enthusiastic, and vastly-experienced, new kids on the block, run the Narosa Surf School just 2 doors away. Both schools run classes for beginners, kids, and the more experienced surfers.

And it’s not just surfing!!! Between Jaws and Narosa, you will be able to find tuition in kayaking, wind-surfing, sailing, stand up paddle-boarding, fitness classes, yoga - in fact you can find tuition in just about anything that you can do on a beach, that doesn’t involve lying around sunning yourself with a beer in your hand.

I get tired just thinking about it.
